Welcome to the Devotee Movie Index.
Movies with disabled characters are, in our opinion, a quick and easy way to satisfy that devotee urge. The problem is finding such movies, and even harder, finding a good movie. There are some real disappointments, as most directors, once they've got a disabled character, don't seem to know what to do with him. Even more often, the disabled character is evil, embittered, and totally asexual. But that still doesn't keep us from going back for more, and hoping the next one will be better. You may disagree with some of the opinions expressed here, but keep in mind that these movies are being evaluated in terms of devotee appeal, not in terms of artistic merit. Sometimes a terrible movie can be pretty darn sexy. And OK, 9 times out of 10 we don't get to see a real disabled person, but an able-bodied actor, but movies by nature are about fantasy. The plot of each movie is described, sometimes very briefly, but in enough detail for you to decide if this is a movie you think you might enjoy. These are all movies we have actually seen, and we will be adding more reviews as we watch more. If there is a movie you would like to add, please let us know.
